ASEAN-China Arts
Colleges Alliance
Jointly initiated by Guangxi Arts University, the ASEAN-China Centre and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Higher Education and Development, ASEAN-China Arts Colleges Alliance (hereinafter referred to as ACACA) is a non-profit organization allying top-notch arts colleges of China and ASEAN on a voluntary basis.
Against the backdrop of deepening strategic partnership, by consolidating cooperative foundation and enriching format and contents therein, it is the common aspiration of the members of ACACA to make concerted efforts to 1) foster a new generation of artists who are equipped with cross-cultural knowledge and international competency; 2) conduct high-level joint research and creation of the arts 3) come up with innovative solutions to the development of cultural and artistic industries in the region; 4) promote cultural and artistic prosperity in the region.
In the city of Nanning, Guangxi, China, on March 16, 2017, ACACA was established with The Joint Declaration of ASEAN-China on Establishing Arts Colleges Alliance signed by the 19 founding members. A permanent presidency shall be set up respectively by each side of the ACACA, with GXAU holding the permanent presidency in China. A rotating presidency shall be set up alternatively by Chinese and ASEAN sides. A permanent secretariat in China shall be set up in GXAU.
